Only in New Mexico

Posted by Tasha (Chicago, United States) on 6 April 2008 in Miscellaneous.

When my mother saw this photo on my camera, she said it looked fake. When Robert (Claire's husband) saw this photo on my camera, he said it looked photoshopped.

Well, it's real. No, I can't prove that to the world at large, but apparently it's been there for months (Pat, a few days back, has also seen it). It's only visible when going DOWN the hill from Los Alamos. If you attempt to find it going UP the hill (in a car), you won't find it.

It's probably a good 100'-200' up the mountain side. No, I have no idea how it got there, or where the pranksters got the sign. However, it was still a fun thing to see, and very well encapsulates a slice of New Mexico culture. Even if that slice is normally found much farther south - in Roswell.

Hahaha! I have posted this ahead of time, so my loyal watchers are not bored as they were while I was on my trip to New Mexico. Today and tomorrow have been posted early, so no one gets bored. I will be photographing in Baltimore from the 5th to the 9th, and don't want to miss an update again.

I will hopefully manage to post something on the 8th and 9th, so there's no more gaps, as there were.
