So we all got out and played around in the lovely weather. It was mid-March, and we of the Chicago area had finally gotten a nice day (though it wasn't yet spring).
I really enjoy the Bean, but I'd really like to catch it some time when there aren't gobs of people around. Unfortunately, I think that means waking up at a vaguely obscene hour of the morning. As previously mentioned, I fail to be a morning person, by a lot.
Thus, I suspect my hope for seeing the Bean without a lot of people around will always be a hopeless fantasy.
Also, could we have some nice days like this one again, please? I really am done with grey and wet for awhile. Bleh.
First off, it was really strange to see this image on my screen--since I also have a postcard photo of the Bean stuck to my monitor! You'll be glad to know yours is almost as good as the professional photographer's shot, too, which also has many people milling about. The postcard has the bonus of a more cloudy day--still a bright sky, but many cloud puffs reflected in the bean, but yours has a nicer sun glare on it.
Also, from an arty perspective, I actually like seeing people around and interacting with the Bean. Having said that, I still recommend getting up stupid early and taking a different photo of it just because it would be interesting for me to see in a different light of day. ;)

@Angelique: Thanks so much!
The people interacting with the bean is pretty cool, I think. I just also would like to see it alone, on it's own. I expect stupid early will happen at some point, but I don't know when.
I never get tired of the pictures of the bean. I'm gonna go to Chicago someday purely for that reason (unless you can recommend any additional reasons). Rest assured, I will be getting up stupid early to get some people free shots - you'd better make sure you beat me to it! How about just staying a awake stupid late rather than getting up early?

@drphoto: Oh, stupid late is very easy for me, but I don't think you'd get people free shots. Unless you're talking about staying up all night, which I am very bad at doing.
Anyway, definitely come for the Bean. Also, the Field Museum. Both zoos are nice, and one is free! The food is stellar. Really, of the three major cities I've lived in, I think Chicago is my favorite. I really loved Baltimore, and would live there again, but Chicago seems like my kind of town.
