Irises on the savanna

Just before I left for New Mexico, I was invited to a Purim Party by one of the people associated with my lab. His wife was very understanding of my interest in photographing her irises.

This is the first of two photos of these flowers. The other will be a macro shot of some of the petals. It is also the first of (at least) four photos that I am expressly looking for commentary on. The two iris photos I think are pretty and nice, but perhaps a bit boring. The other two I will explain when they are posted.
