So, here's the downer to the car. It's in a handicapped spot, and has no handicapped decal or plate. I'm pretty sure Batman is not handicapped. If he were, the show would have been all about Robin.
This is one of the other things I remember about the story my mother told me of my aunt & uncle's courtship. Generally, my uncle tried not to be a jerk, while still protecting his car. So, most of the time, the two of them got a long walk in, getting from the car parked way out at the far end of the lot to the door of wherever they were going. He also took up a fair number of spaces, so no one could park too near him. I often wonder if people did, just to show him how wrong he was and all of that.
However, my mother tells me that even if the parking lot were small, he parked his car in a number of spaces, to protect it. I really wonder then, what sort of "trouble" that might have gotten him.
All of that said, I truly doubt he would have parked in a handicapped spot to protect his car. Admittedly, if I don't know my cousins well (and I mentioned that I don't, in a previous post), I know their father even less well. However, this would still strike me as completely out of character for him.
Plus, this parking lot was huge. This car could easily have been very far away and been safe. If it were my uncle's car, it would have been much farther out, I'm sure.
